WEAVERVILLE—Cloyce Gordon, Jr., age 84, of Weaverville died Sunday, August 3, 2008.
Mr. Gordon was born September 28, 1923, a native of Florida he had been a resident of N.C. for over 20 years. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was the son of the late Cloyce F. Gordon, Sr. and Ivy Moran Gordon and the step-son of the late Opal Gordon.
Surviving is his wife of 62 years, Helen Gordon; daughter, Carol Dunkelberger and husband David of The Rock, Ga.; sons, Cloyce Gordon, III and wife Carol of Lady Lake, Fla. and Robert Gordon and wife Mary of Scottsdale, Ariz.; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Services will be held at 12:00 noon Wednesday in Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted by N.C. Army National Guard Honor Team.
