Cody Lee Fender

WEAVERVILLE—Cody Lee Fender, age 22, of Weaverville, died Saturday, August 11, 2012. Cody was born February 13, 1990, in Buncombe County. He was a 2008 graduate of North Buncombe High School. He was an employee of the Fresh Market on Merrimon Avenue. He loved to draw and sketch and also fish with his dad and brother. Surviving are his parents, Don and Jennifer Hensley Fender of Weaverville; brother, Clayton Fender of the home; maternal grandmother, Barbara Carson of Barnardsville; paternal grandparents, Jock and Linda Fender of Weaverville; and girlfriend, Leah Garth of Weaverville. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, August 16, 2012, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Rev. Dean Metcalf officiating. The family will greet friends following the service. At other times the family will be at the residence. The family requests memorials to help with final expenses be made to the Cody Fender Memorial Fund at any SunTrust Bank.
