ALEXANDER – Corey Snyder, age 26, of Alexander, died Thursday, October 11, 2018 from complications of a brief illness; leaving his parents’ arms and entering Hannah’s arms in heaven.
Corey was born March 17, 1992 in Buncombe County where he was a resident all of his life. He was a graduate of North Buncombe High School and employed with M.B. Haynes Electric Company. Corey was a recovering drug addict and proud to say “he screwed up, but was not a screw up” being clean for the last four years. He was a member of Grace Episcopal Church. Preceding him in death was his sister, Hannah Isabella Snyder and many other family members.
Surviving are his parents, Roger and Laura Coffey Snyder; sister, Tszyan Snyder; grandparents, Ronnie and Joann Snyder, and Larry Coffey; girlfriend, Hailey Stuffel and her sons, Lennon and Camden; aunts and uncles, Raymond and Norma Jean Snyder, Lisa and Billy Duncan, Kathy Fuerst, and Steve and Mikki Lewis; cousins, Alyssa, Devon, Katie, Michael and Gabbie; “brothers and sister from another mother”, Stephen Peek, Sam Garrett, BamBam, Brittany Gortney, and many others.
His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 15, 2018 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville. The Reverend Gary Butterworth, Reverend Earlyne Bartley and Sam Garret will officiate.
The family will receive friends 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, October 14, 2018 at the funeral home.
