DAN HOWARD JONES WEST ASHEVILLE – Dan Howard Jones, age 66, of 33 Cub Road died Tuesday, May 24, 2016. Mr. Jones was born June 19, 1949 in Buncombe County. He was retired from Buncombe County where he had worked at the courthouse and health department. Dan was preceded in death by his father, Howard Jones; and brother, Bob. Surviving are his sons, Jeremy J. Jones and fiancée Leeann, Alan L. Jones and wife Shawna all of Candler; mother, Madeline Rose Luther Rickman of Swannanoa; sister, Roseann Wright and husband Herman of Arden; brother, Tony Burton Jones and wife Catherine of Swannanoa; grandchildren, Jada and Kinzley; lifelong friend, Richard “Dickie” Banks. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 27, 2016, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Reverend Allen Rash officiating. Burial will be in West Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home. Flowers are welcome.
