WEAVERVILLE - Danny Pike, age 66, of 30 McCurry Road, died Thursday, June 22, 2017.
Danny was born August 10, 1950 in Buncombe County where he had lived all of his life. He served in the US Army. He was employed by Winn Dixie; but for the majority of his life he was a self-employed carpenter. Danny had a love of woodworking and many homes in Buncombe County have his craftsmanship in them. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, rocking on his front porch and spending time with his grandkids. He loved Salem United Methodist Church and its people. His parents, James Lloyd Pike, Jr. and Betty Benfield Pike preceded him in death; as well as his brothers, Bobby and Tommy Pike.
Surviving is his wife of 42 years, Brenda Redmon Pike; daughter, Jamie Pike Edmonds and husband Josh; son, Colby Pike and wife Laura; two grandchildren, Gracie and Brody Edmonds; sister, Katie Pike; and sister-in-law, Susan Pike all of Weaverville; brother, Ricky Pike and wife Christy of Alexander; and many treasured friends.
His graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 24, 2017, in the Veterans Section at West Memorial Park, with Rev. Kent Smith and brother-in-law, Rev. Dean Haney officiating.
The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday at West Funeral Home.
At other times, the family will be at the residence.
