Darlene Ladd Mayfield

WEAVERVILLE—Darlene Ladd Mayfield, age 62, of 55 East Ponder Way, died Thursday, July 25, 2013. Mrs. Mayfield was born April 21, 1951, in Statesville and was a resident of Troutman most of her life before moving to Weaverville two years ago. She formerly worked at the Brian Center in Statesville for 20 years, Gentiva Health Services as a home health nurse, and was owner-operator of Curves in Troutman. She was a former member of New Perth A.R.P. Church in Troutman and was active in the choir. She and Melton were motorcycle enthusiasts and enjoyed shagging. She was the daughter of the late William and Ruby Howard Ladd and was also preceded in death by her infant son. Surviving are her husband, Melton Mayfield; daughter, Tricia Martin and husband Tommy of Statesville; stepdaughter, Krista Lanning and husband Jason of Mooresville; stepson, Ray Mayfield and wife Shinon of Mooresville; grandchildren, Justin Martin, Megan Martin, Ashley Martin; step grandchildren, Austin Mayfield, Jaxson Mayfield, Korbin Lanning, Taitlyn Lanning; and great granddaughter, Brooklyn Martin.
