WOODFIN—David Charles Dobbins, age 70, of 2 Elkmont Place died Monday, August 27, 2012.
Mr. Dobbins was born August 2, 1942, in Buncombe County and was a resident of Norfolk and Suffolk, Va., for many years and had been back home for the past 30 years. He has worked as a businessman of many trades. He was founder of Granny's Kitchen where he worked until he retired. He loved to live life, his family, bingo, and the beach. He was a son of the late Marjorie Evans Kunkle.
Surviving are his daughters, Margaret Silverdahl and husband Gene of Rice, Va., and Sharon Perry and husband Jerry of Suffolk, Va.; longtime companion, Becky Keffer and her children, Suzanne Keffer and Marvin Keffer, Jr.; brother, Donald Dobbins and wife Linda of Charlotte; his longtime friend whom he loved like a daughter, Cecelia Cody and her husband Eddie; four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
His graveside service will be held at 2:30 PM, Saturday, September 1, 2012, in West Memorial Park with Rev. Clark Henderson officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 PM Friday at West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville.
