David Edward Henson

ASHEVILLE / FRANKLIN – David Edward Henson, age 84, of Asheville formerly of Franklin, died, November 19, 2018. Dr. Henson was born September 20, 1934 in Jackson County to the late Ernest Jackson and Katie Mae Carden Henson. He received his DDS at the UNC Chapel Hill and was a dentist for fifty years. Dr. Henson was a former mayor of Franklin, NC and former president of the Cherokee Historical Association. Surviving are his wife, Helen Reed Henson; daughter Maria Henson Wells and husband Cliff; son, David Edward Henson, Jr.; brother, Tom Henson and wife Carol; grandchildren, Cody Wells and wife Katie, and Jack Wells.
