DAVID R. STEWART
WEAVERVILLE – David R. Stewart, age 66, of Weaverville died Friday, October 21, 2016.
Mr. Stewart was born November 20, 1949 in Buncombe County where he had lived all of his life. He was a member of Vance Masonic Lodge # 293 A.F. & A.M. He was an avid outdoorsman and was a supervisor for Revco Scientific. David was a veteran of the United States Navy and member of Jupiter Baptist Church. He was a son of the late John Robert Stewart.
Surviving are his wife of 35 years, Wanda Sherlin Stewart; daughter, Courtney Parks and husband Rodney; son, Alex Stewart and wife Lindsey; mother, Ida “Tootsie” Phillips Stewart; sister, Linda Herron and husband Tony; brother, Joe Stewart and wife Susan; grandchildren, Cassidy and Haylie Stewart, Jacob, Reagan and Caleb Parks; and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 26, 2016, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Chaplain Jeremiah Richards officiating. Burial will be in Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
At other times, the family will be at the home of Tony and Linda Herron.
