WEAVERVILLE – Dean Robert Baehman, age 68, of Weaverville died Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at John F. Keever Solace Center.
Mr. Baehman was born March 24, 1949 in Lincoln County Wisconsin and was a resident of Buncombe County since 1993. Dean was a member of Pleasant Grove Union Church. He also belonged to the Buncombe Rifle North South Skirmish Association. He worked as a carpenter and was the plant maintenance manager at Carolina Day School. Sports Illustrated recognized Dean as a top operations manager for Stokley-Van Camp in FL. He was an entrepreneur and master woodworker. He is preceded in death by his parents, Emmett Baehman, and Gertrude Facklam Baehman Scott and step-father, Garland Scott; son, Jeff Baehman.
Surviving are his wife, Paulette Susan Baehman; sons, Peter Baehman and wife Stephanie and Chris Baehman and wife Fran; sister, Lynn Scott; grandchildren, Allie Baehman McGuffey, and Elisabeth, Jacob, Bradley and Luke Baehman.
His service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 21, 2017 in the chapel of West Funeral Home, with Reverends Ray Bailey, Rick Johnson and Sonia Burleson officiating. Burial will be in Baehman Cemetery.
