Dennis Eugene Peek

WEAVERVILLE– Dennis Eugene Peek, age 65, of Weaverville passed away unexpectedly at his residence Thursday, June 1, 2023.

He was born February 24, 1958, to the late Rufus Henry Peek and Louisa Ramsey Peek.

He is survived by a daughter, Elena Denise Peek of Asheville and son, Andrew Christian Peek also of Asheville. He is also survived by four brothers, Edward Peek, Robert Peek, Dean Peek and Jeff Peek all of Weaverville.

Dennis was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Ponder; brother, Larry Peek and a nephew, Joshua Peek all of Weaverville.

Upon graduating from Erwin High School, Dennis served in the US Navy. After serving in the Navy, he went to work for the United States Postal Service where he later retired.

Dennis spent his retirement years staying busy. He loved working outdoors and working around the house. Dennis would always lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He loved his children and was always there for them. He was a great father who will be truly missed.

His memorial service will be held at 2:30 pm on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home.

The family will greet friends one hour prior to the memorial services.
