WEAVERVILLE– Dixie Clemmons Ingle, age 69, of Stoney Knob Road, died Tuesday, January 8, 2019.

Mrs. Ingle was born February 11, 1949 in Buncombe County to the late Leonard and June Margaret Collins Clemmons; she was a resident of Buncombe County where she lived all of her life. Dixie formerly worked at Weaverville Florist and WWNC Radio as a morning personality and producer.  She was known as the “Duck Lady” of Weaverville who fought for the proper care of the ducks at Lake Louise. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Laura Fowler.

Surviving are her husband of 50 years, Jerry H. Ingle; sons, Gary Houston Ingle and wife Debi, and Timothy Jason Ingle and wife Cyndi; son by choice, Randy Talley; grandson, Oliver Ingle; sister, Terry Dunn; nieces and nephews, including Angie McQueen, who was always there to help.

A sharing of memories with family and friends will be held 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 11, 2019 at West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville.

Memorials may be made to Allen Animal Hospital’s “Angel Fund”, 24 Critter Trail, Weaverville, NC  28787.
