WEAVERVILLE - Donna Coddington Anderson, age 76, of 744 Reems Creek Rd., died Friday, January 17, 2014.
Donna was born February 20, 1937, in Chicago, Illinois and grew up in Asheville from an early age. She was the cherished wife of her devoted husband Donald H. Anderson for 54 years. She was an active member of Reems Creek-Beech Presbyterian Church for many years. After graduating from Lee Edwards High School in 1957, she worked as a dental assistant. Her greatest joys in life were her family, friends, and home. She always took advantage of her creative talents and turned antiques and furniture into beautiful works of art which she displayed throughout her home. Donna especially loved knitting of all types and sharing with family and friends. She had a beautiful voice and often sang solos in her formative years at church. All who knew her will always remember her wonderful sense of humor and her ability to brighten up any room with laughter and excitement. She was a daughter of the late Clady B. Coddington and Ruby Renfro Coddington James.
Surviving in addition to her husband Don are her two adored sons, Jeff Anderson and wife Wanda and their son Jason Davis, and Keith Anderson and wife Penny and their children Jessica and Kyle, all of Weaverville; sister, Gloria Coddington Woodson; brother, James M. Coddington, Sr. and wife Barbara of Candler; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 20, 2014, in Reems Creek-Beech Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Jay Rabuck and cousin Dr. Joe Renfro officiating. Burial will be in West Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Sunday at West Funeral Home where her body will remain until placed in the church one hour prior to the services.
At other times, the family will be at the residence.
