Doris Holcombe Bartlett

ASHEVILLE—Doris Holcombe Bartlett, age 73, of 161 Reed Street, died Monday, December 17, 2012. Mrs. Bartlett was born October 10, 1939, in Asheville. She was a loving wife and mother and the financial manager for Bartlett Brothers Plumbing, as well as an amateur wedding photographer. She was the daughter of the late Clyde and Mary Cole Holcombe. Surviving are her husband of 53 years, Harold Bartlett; son, H. Dean Bartlett of Charlotte; brother, Roy H. Cole and wife Lou Ellen of Arden; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their deep gratitude to J.W. Johnston for his assistance throughout her illness. Mrs. Bartlett's funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, December 22, 2012, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Rev. Neal Adams and David Anders officiating. Burial will be in Vance Cemetery, Weaverville. In lieu of home visits, the family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
