WEAVERVILLE / MIDDLEBURG, FL—Dorothy J. Ponder, age 89, of Middleburg, FL, died Wednesday, May 23, 2012.
Mrs. Ponder was born October 2, 1922, in Wayne County, Mich. She retired from Baby Superstore and worked at ECI Electronics. She was a member of Clay Hill Baptist Church. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Winifred Watkins Goettel; husband, Frank Ernest Ponder who died in 1979; infant son, Frank Emmett; and sisters, Bernice and Gloria.
She was a loving mother beyond what words can say.
Surviving are her daughters, Judy White and husband Irwin D. of Savannah, Ga., and Barbara Ephlin and husband Jim of Middleburg, Fla.; brother, Wayne Goettel and wife Agnes of St. Louis, Mo.; grandchildren, Brian White, Chuck Maass, III, and wife Debbie, Debra Joyce, Cindy Gibbs and husband Randy; great grandchildren, Kenny, Nicki, Ashley, Chris, Shane, Seth, Danny, Megan, and Steven; and 11 great great grandchildren.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, May 27, 2012, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Revs. Walter Ponder and Jimmy Ponder officiating. Burial will be in Locust Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
