Dulcie Lee McKenzie

ASHEVILLE—Dulcie Lee McKenzie, age 89, formerly of Spooks Branch Rd., died Tuesday, January 29, 2013. Mrs. McKenzie was born May 13, 1923, in Rutherford County and was a resident of Buncombe County for most of her life. She was formerly the assistant manager at the S&H Green Stamps Store, retiring in 1985. She was a long-time member of Beaverdam Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late John and Katie Callahan Hill and wife of the late Guy Troxell McKenzie who died in 2005. Surviving are her son, Guy Thomas McKenzie of Sky Valley, Ga.; and grandson, Scott McKenzie and wife Christina of Wilmington. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 2, 2013, at Beaverdam Baptist Church, 399 Beaverdam Rd., Asheville, NC 28804, with Rev. Daniel Reese officiating. Burial will be in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Beaverdam Baptist Church.
