Earl Chastain Crawford

FAIRVIEW - Earl Chastain Crawford, age 85, of Fairview, died Monday, April 1, 2013. Mr. Crawford was born December 27, 1927, in Jackson County. He was a self-employed building and flooring contractor since 1964, still actively working until he was 80 years old. He was a member of Cane Creek Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cicero and Myrtle Robinson Crawford; wife, Louellen Crawford who died in 2009; sisters, Kate, Lena, and Ethel; brothers, Alvin, Roy, Lloyd, and Carl. Surviving are his daughter, Gail Crawford Rhoades and husband Wayne; sons, Roger Crawford and wife Ramona and Randy Crawford and wife Gail; sisters, Evelyn Turpin, Harriet Woods and Louise Sutton; brother, Clyde Crawford; grandchildren, Renease Filban, Rhoby Crawford, Rica Taylor, Jeffery Rhoades, Mike Rhoades, Shannon Cochran, Jim and Steve Jamesson; and five great grandchildren. His funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, April 4, 2013, at Cane Creek Baptist Church, with Rev. Terry Bentley, Rev. Dan Holbert, and Rev. Jack Presnell officiating. Burial will be in Cane Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday at the church, which is located off the Charlotte Highway behind Angelo's Restaurant in Fairview.
