Earl Allen Davis

   FLETCHER – Earl Allen Davis, 89, passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2023.

   A native of Haywood County, NC, Earl was the son of the late Earl W. Davis and Alma Crum Davis.

   He was also preceded in death by wife, Martha Davis; a son, Larry Davis; a daughter in law, Linda Davis; a granddaughter, Tabitha Scurry; sisters, Helen Burnette, Evelyn Hoffman and Betty Jean Messer; and brothers, Ray and Richard Davis.

   Earl enjoyed fishing, growing a garden, hiking and watching all of his grandchildren play.

   He was a member of Biltmore Church in Arden. He retired after his career at Sears & Roebuck Company in Asheville.

   Earl is survived by three sons, Allen Davis of Georgia, Dana Davis (Angie) of Candler and Tracy Davis (Cherie) of Hendersonville; eight grandchildren, Amy, Angela, Evan, Alex, Cameron, Colby, Conner and Logan; twenty one great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; his sister, Wanda West and numerous nieces and nephews.

   The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Margaret Noel and her staff at Memory Care and the staff at the Landings of Mills River and Four Seasons Hospice.

   A funeral service will be held at 2:30PM on Saturday, June 17 in the chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville with Rev. Dr. Kelvin Moseley and grandson, Pastor Alex Davis officiating. Burial will follow in West Memorial Park, 40 Roberts St., Weaverville. The family will receive friends from 1:00PM until 2:00PM on Saturday at the funeral home.
