ALEXANDER - Elden Boyd Robinson, age 86, passed away unexpectedly at home on August 16, 2024 in Alexander, North Carolina. Born on September 30, 1937, in Buncombe County, Elden spent his career as a dedicated painter and truck driver, jobs that reflected his hard-working and reliable nature.
Elden was a man who cherished his family deeply, embodying the essence of a caring and giving individual. His life was enriched by his beloved wife of 58 years, Geraldine Thomas Robinson, and their vibrant family. He is also survived by his daughters, Christine “Buttons” Thomas of the home, and Mary Edwards (Larry) of Leicester; sons, Ricky Robinson (Vona) of Woodfin, Gary Scott (Carolyn), and Johnny Scott (Norma) both of Leicester; his sisters, Doris Hensley (Larry) of Alexander, and Ina Mae Hodge (Lonnie) of Jacksonville, Florida; brother, Henry “Boogie” Robinson of Cowpens, South Carolina; a very special sister-in-law, Beverly Weems of Asheville; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Elden was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Boyd Robinson and Edith Carolee Robinson; his brothers Bill and David Robinson; and his sons Michael Robinson and Ricky “Big Rick” Scott.
Beyond his family and career, Elden had a passion for working around his yard, always accompanied by his daughter, Buttons. He enjoyed tinkering with mowers and his old vehicles, showcasing his love for hands-on vehicles showcasing his love for hands-on activities and spending quality time with his family.
The family is being assisted by West Funeral Home during this difficult time. Elden’s legacy as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather will be fondly remembered and sorely missed by all who loved him.
A graveside service will be held at 2pm Thursday August 22nd in Clark's Chapel Cemetery, 65 Clark's Chapel Church Road, Weaverville, NC. Reverend Steve Rhinehart will officiate.
