DR. ELIZABETH "BETTY" S. CHAMBERLAIN WEAVERVILLE - Dr. Elizabeth "Betty" S. Chamberlain, age 85, of Weaverville and formerly of Durham died Thursday, November 20, 2014. Dr. Chamberlain was born in St. Louis, MO. She obtained her Bachelor's Degree from Wellesley College, her Masters from Michigan and her Ph.D. from UNC Chapel Hill. Dr. Chamberlain was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church and was very dedicated and active in the Democratic Party. Surviving are her husband, Rhett Chamberlain Jr.; son Edwin R. Chamberlain, both of the home; and five cats which she adored. A Celebration of her life will be held at 11:00a.m., Thursday, December 4, 2014, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Rev. Linda Kelly officiating.
