MARS HILL—Elizabeth "Liz" Hoelderlin passed away quietly on Friday, July 5, 2013 in Mars Hill at the age of 94.
Mrs. Hoelderlin was born June 21, 1919 in Brooklyn, NY to the late George and Wilhelmina Herrmann Vetter. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Arthur J. Hoelderlin, Sr., who she affectionately referred to as "King of My Heart", her brothers, Phil, George and John Vetter and sister, Loretta Fehrenbach.
She is survived by her daughter, Janice Ulrey and husband Bob with whom she had resided since moving to NC four years ago and her son, Arthur J. Hoelderlin, Jr. and wife Kathy. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Dena Baggiero and husband Alan, Lance Matias and wife Jennifer and Arthur J. Hoelderlin, III and wife Nadine and six great grandchildren, Jen and Alex Baggiero, Dennis, Ryan and Angelina Matias and Logan Hoelderlin and several nieces and nephews.
Prior to moving to NC, Liz resided in Margate, FL for 35 years, where she attended Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. She lived in Bethpage, NY, where she and Arthur raised their children. She later worked as a secretary at Grumman Aircraft until retiring and moving to Florida in 1973. She enjoyed spending a lot of time with family and friends, working on various crafting projects and loved to dance.
Her memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 4, 2013, in Mars Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Justice officiating. The family will greet friends following the service.
An additional service will be held in Margate, FL on a future date.

She had a long, wonderful life and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
