ELLIE H. BROWN WEAVERVILLE – Ellie H. Brown, of Weaverville died Monday, March 7, 2016. Ellie was born in Madison County and was a resident of Buncombe County for many years. She worked at Vanderbilt Shirt Company, Asheville Mfg., Champion Mfg. and Stahl-Sac. She was a member of Mt. Bethel Baptist Church. Preceding her in death are her parents, Cornel and Cellia Burrell Hylton; husband, Junior Brown; son, Eddie Brown; and sisters, Ruby Roberts, and Annie Norton. Surviving are her sisters, Maude Woody, of Marshall, Viola Rice and husband Carmen, Berlia Cox and husband Gary, all of Weaverville, Ruth Edwards and husband Rev. Keith Edwards also of Marshall; brothers, James Hylton and C.B. Hylton, both of Marshall; several nieces and nephews; and her little dog Daisy. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 10, 2016 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Reverends Mike Thomas, Kermit Ball and Homer Tweed officiating. Burial will be in Clark Cemetery on Grapevine. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
