WEAVERVILLE- Elsie Iowa Bradburn Candler, age 86, of Allman Hill Road, went to be with her precious Lord and Savior Monday, January 19, 2009.
Mrs. Candler was born May 1, 1922 in Lockhart, SC and was a resident of Buncombe County for most of her life. She was a devoted homemaker, known for her cooking and care of others. Preceding her in death were her parents, Merrit and Lela Mae Frisbee Bradburn as well as her husband, James Willard Candler who died in 2007.
Surviving is her daughter, Alice Williams and husband JB; son, Michael Candler and wife Beth; sisters, Kathleen Sluder and husband Joe, Grace Shelton and husband Ted and Julia Bradburn; brother Junior Bradburn and wife Sue all of Weaverville; grandchildren, Michele Williams Kopp and husband Kevin, Chris Williams, Nicholas Candler and fiancee Rebekah Goodpaster and Caroline Candler; great grandchildren, Hailey Ramsey, Jordan Williams, Christopher Williams, Ella Kopp and Lucy Kopp.
Funeral Services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 21, 2009 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville with Rev. Barry Fisher and Chaplain Cindy Coleman officiating. The family will receive friends following the funeral service at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 22nd.
