WEAVERVILLE– Elva Lee Freeman Coomer, age 88, of Weaverville, died Friday, August 17, 2018.
Mrs. Coomer was born April 11, 1930 in Buncombe County to the late Levi and Ruth Lunsford Freeman, she lived in Buncombe County all of her life. A devoted mother, grandmother and a wonderful homemaker; who loved sewing and making her children’s clothing. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Crystal Coomer.
Surviving are her husband of 68 years, Berry Coomer; daughter, Kathy Coomer of Weaverville; sons, Larry Coomer and wife Debra of Lewisburg, KY, Garry Coomer and wife Cathy, and David Coomer and wife Cindy, all of Weaverville; sister, Lorraine Wilson of Taylor, MI; brother, Dedrick Freeman of Columbus, OH; six grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter.
Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 21, 2018 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville. Reverend Dr. Allen Raines will officiate. Burial will be in Clarks Chapel Cemetery, Weaverville.
The family will receive friends 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, August 20, 2018 at the funeral home.
