Elva Mae Henderson

WEAVERVILLE– Elva Mae Henderson, age 89, died Thursday, December 14, 2017. Mrs. Henderson was born November 24, 1928 in Madison County and was a resident of Buncombe County for most of her life. She worked for Dr. Bolinger and in the Deli at Ingles Market. She was the daughter of the late James Moody and Allie Meadows Davis and wife of the late John Henderson. Also preceding her in death were her sisters, Nellie Shelton, Jessie Ball, and Virginia Roberts and brother, Cleophas Davis. Surviving are her sisters, Robbie Creson and husband Rev. Bill Creson and Bettie J. Rice and husband James V.; several nieces and nephews. Her funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, December 16, 2017 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave. Weaverville. Rev. Billy Honeycutt will officiate. Entombment will follow in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory, Asheville. The family will receive friends 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 16, 2017 at the funeral home.
