Elvin William Buchanan

Elvin William “Buck” Buchanan, age 78, of Alexander died Saturday, May 5, 2018. Mr. Buchanan was born October 28, 1939 in Buncombe County where he had lived all of his life. He loved his Lord and his family. Buck worked for and retired from Electric Supply Company. During the Korean Conflict he served in the Air Force. He worshipped at Waynesville Christian Fellowship. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Monroe and Mildred Dickerson Buchanan; his son, William Kevin Buchanan; and brother, Robert C. Buchanan. Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Fern Davis Buchanan; daughters, Stephanie Innes and husband Mark and Chrissi Buchanan-Rawls and husband Jon; sisters, Pat Fisher and husband Grey, Judy Buchanan and Sandy Buchanan; brothers, David Buchanan and wife Sharon, Jerry Buchanan and wife Sharon and John Buchanan and wife Kathy; grandchildren, Brad, Roger, Dale and Nikki Innes and Brooke and Jonae Rawls and great granddaughter, Mallory Innes. His funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 8, 2018 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home. His brothers-in-law, Clayton Davis and Grey Fisher will officiate. Burial will be in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory, Asheville. The family will receive friends 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
