Elwanda Lynette Willett

Elwanda Lynette Willett, 54, of Alexander, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 20, 2024.  She was born in Alexander to the late Rev. Phil and Joyce Willett.  She is survived by her sisters, Tammy Ballard (Eddie), and Christie Willett (Trés), both of Alexander; nephews Dustin Ballard of Alexander, Zack Ballard (Taylor) of Mars Hill, Collin Wheeler (Hannah) of Weaverville, and Gage Van Etten of Weaverville; her niece, Brianna Ballard of Bristol, VA; her great nephew, Max Ballard; and great nieces, Millie and Moriah Ballard.

Lynette loved the Lord.  She enjoyed going to church and being with her friends and family. She could always be seen with a smile on her face and was such a joy to all those who were around her.  As a sports fan she liked cheering for the Carolina Tar Heels and the Atlanta Braves.  Throughout her life, she treasured fishing with her daddy and nephews and always looked forward to sharing a meal of fresh-caught trout with her family.

Lynette’s funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 24th in the Chapel of West Funeral Home with Rev. Raymond Cantrell, Rev. Frank Willett, Rev. Jeffrey Moore, and Rev. Steve Davis officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at West Funeral Home before the service. Burial will follow at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family invites friends to visit the home after the services.
