WEAVERVILLE—Emil Agosta, age 90, of Weaverville, died Sunday, December 30, 2012.
Emil was born August 27, 1922, in New York City, N.Y. He was the son of the late Giuseppe and Louisa Bellino Agosta. Emil worked in aviation after his 1940 graduation from Commerce High School in Manhattan. He worked in the industry for 14 years as a mechanic and electronics technician. Emil attended Hofstra and Queens Colleges and received his BS degree from Oswego State Teachers College. He also received a Master's Degree in Education from NYU. He taught industrial arts on Long Island, NY, for 25 years.
Emil moved to Weaverville in 1981. He was involved in ballroom dancing and DJ'd an instructional program on local public radio. He designed, built, and flew RC model airplanes with a local club and gained recognition in national publications and shows.
He was surrounded by wonderful friends and neighbors in his community. He is survived by his son, Joseph Agosta of Prescott, Ariz.; sister, Mary Tortorici of Florida; and granddaughter, Angela A. Head of Homer, Alaska.
Friends are invited to join the family for a time of remembrance in Emil's home on January 3, 2013, from 1-5 PM.
