Eric Dwayne Ray

MARS HILL—Eric Dwayne Ray, age 39, of Mars Hill, died Thursday, July 12, 2012. Mr. Ray was born May 21, 1973, in Buncombe County and was a resident of Iredell County before returning to Buncombe County. He was employed with WNC Baptist Retirement Home. Eric was a member of Locust Grove Baptist Church. Surviving are his parents, Michael Ray and wife Anne of Mars Hill and Mary Ann Edmonds Wheeler and husband Jim of Weaverville; sister, Michelle Adams of Mars Hill and fiance Jamie Cooke; and niece, Taylor Dyson of Mars Hill. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 14, 2012, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Revs. Jonathan Sluder and H.L. Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Locust Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, July 13, 2012, at the funeral home. Flowers are acceptable and appreciated.
