ERNEST HOWELL ASHEVILLE - Ernest Howell, age 78, of 164 Ramsey Road died Monday, December 22, 2014. Mr. Howell was born August 21, 1936 in Madison County to the late Luther Guy and Ethel Chandler Howell and was a retired heavy equipment operator with Caldwell Well Drilling. Ernest enjoyed riding motorcycles and spending time with his family, whom he loved. Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Elizabeth Clontz Howell; daughters, Kathy and Tammy Howell; sons, Billy Grooms and partner Celeste, Michael Howell and wife Donna; sisters, Inez Lominac and husband Kent, Theda Suttles and husband Carmel; brother, David Howell and wife Gail; three grandchildren, Morgan Howell, Richard Swann, Tiffany Wyatt and five great grandchildren. His funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 24, 2014, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home with Reverend Gary Fender officiating. Burial will be in West Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the residence. Flowers are welcome.
