Estelle Brigman Pritchard

ASHEVILLE—Estelle Brigman Pritchard, 85 of Asheville died Saturday, July 25, 2009. Mrs. Pritchard was born June 21, 1924 in Madison County and was a resident of Buncombe County for most of her life. She worked for the old "Dixie Home" which later became Winn-Dixie for 34 years as a bookkeeper. Estelle was a former member of Eastern Star # 49, Weaverville. She loved to have her family and extended family in for meals and fellowship, she was an excellent cook. Mrs. Pritchard was a member of Newbridge Baptist Church where she had served on the benevolence committee. She was a Christian and loved "her Jesus". She was a daughter of the late Rev. Joel Willard Bascombe Brigman and Donnie Matilda Corn Brigman and is preceded in death by her husband, Charles J. Pritchard who died in 1988, son, Samuel L. Pritchard, great grandson, Nicholas Daniel Hensley, sister, Parolee Gillespie, brother, James Blanton Brigman. Surviving are two daughters, Sherry Hensley and her husband Ken, and Kay Pritchard all of Asheville; son, Robert Pritchard and his wife Ruth of Columbia, SC; three grandchildren, Rev. Jeff Hensley, Joel Hensley and Tracy Pritchard; seven great grandchildren, Donnie Pritchard, Chris, Alexander, Cole, Molli, Jaxon, and Dalli Hensley. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2009 in Newbridge Baptist Church with Revs. Clark Henderson, Dr. Jeff Hensley and David Warren officiating. Burial will be in West Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service at the church.
