Ethel M. Dyer

ASHEVILLE – Ethel M. Dyer, age 83, of New Haw Creek Road, passed into the gates of heaven Sunday, June 3, 2018. Mrs. Dyer was born September 28, 1934 in Buncombe County where she had lived all of her life. She was the daughter of the late Charles Joseph and Myrtle Ingle Miller. Ethel retired from Babies-R-Us. She was also preceded in death by a husband, Herman Dyer; brother, Frank Miller; sisters, Barbara Miller and Karen McMahan. Over the course of her life, Ethel opened her home to many children whom she treated them just like her own. Surviving are her daughter, Debra Jones and husband Danny; sons, Roger J. Dyer and wife Bethany, Ray Dyer, Norman Dyer, and Gerald Dyer; sister Elmeda Foster; ten grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 6, 2018 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville. Rev. Earl Jones will officiate. Burial will follow in Green Hills Cemetery, Asheville. Ethel passed away at Emerald Ridge Rehabilitation and Nursing Care Center. Their genuine and loving care of Ethel enabled countless blessings, and many new friends.
