Euris "Bill" Ballard

WEAVERVILLE – Euris "Bill" Ballard, age 85, of Weaverville passed away Saturday, October 19, 2024.

Mr. Ballard was born April 6, 1939, in Yancey County to the late Lattie H. and Margaret Shepherd Ballard and was a resident of Buncombe County for most of his life after marriage.

Bill was a tobacco farmer alongside taking care of his cattle. He served in the United States Army and was also a member of the VFW. He had a sweet tooth that included his love for chocolate. He also loved his grandchildren and being a grandfather.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Ruth Ballard; and daughter, Teresa Ballard Roland.

Surviving are his sons, Brian Ballard and wife Issy, and Lattie Ballard and wife Alisha; sisters, Jean Robinson, Elezene Brown, and Mildred Ray; brother, Roy Gus Ballard and wife Nancy; eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

His funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, October 25, 2024, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, NC 28787, with Rev. Charles English officiating. Burial will follow at Flat Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, 89 Flat Creek Church Road, Weaverville. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service.
