EVA BURRELL CORN
CANDLER - Eva Burrell Corn, age 80, of 89 Pete Luther Road, died Saturday, December 7, 2013.
Mrs. Corn was born November 6, 1933. She was a retired Buncombe County school teacher and a member of Canton First Baptist Church. A devoted Chevrolet owner, she loved teaching, animals, traveling, gardening and bird watching. Eva was also an avid football fan especially for the Pisgah High School Bears. She made the best scrambled eggs.
A daughter of the late Geter Wayne Burrell and Reva Rogers Burrell, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. "Bob" Corn who died in 2007; son, Robin Corn and brother, Don W. Burrell.
Surviving are her daughter, Debbie Jackson and husband Charles of Asheville; daughter-in-law, Carol Corn of Canton; brother, Danny J. Burrell of Weaverville; sister-in-law, Mildred Burrell of Waynesville; grandchildren, Ashley Corn, Meredith Corn, Nathan Jackson and wife Amy, and Brittany Paul and husband Chris; great grandsons, Cody and Cayden Jackson and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 15, 2013, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave, Weaverville, with Reverend David Burrell officiating. Burial will be in West Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to service, at the funeral home.
