FAYE FOX HAWKINS 1925-2015 WEAVERVILLE- Faye Fox Hawkins, 90, of Weaverville died Thursday, September 10, 2015. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County she was born May 13, 1925 to the late Woodard Fox and Zelma Clark Fox. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Cecil G. Hawkins who died in 1982. Faye worked for forty three years at Burlington Industries. She is survived by her daughter, Kaye Thornton and her husband, Chuck of Weaverville, her grandson, Chris McKenzie of Raleigh and her granddaughter, Emily Thornton of Raleigh. In addition to her daughter and grandchildren she is also survived by her sister, Hattie Redmon and brother, Rev. Bobby C. Fox. She was "Mama Faye" to niece Cheryl Jones and her two daughters, Ashley and Baily. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 12, 2015 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby C. Fox officiating. Burial will be in Turkey Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Leicester. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service.
