FAYE RAY MCPETERS MARSHALL - Faye Ray McPeters, age 95 of 3808 Walnut Creek Road, graduated with high honors Wednesday, October 23, 2013. Mrs. McPeters was born January 16, 1918 in Yancey County to the late Ernest and Celia Metcalf Ray. She was a long time resident of Madison County and was a foster mom for a number of years. Faye was a member of Mt. Bethel Freewill Baptist Church, where she taught the ladies Sunday school class for 9 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Alvin W. McPeters, who died in 1992; brothers, Rupert, Rev. Lida and Rev. Kenny Ray; sisters, Lena McPeters, Ruth Ray, and Kate Ray. Surviving are her daughters, Inez Fox of Leicester, Marie Davis of Marshall, Christine McGalliard and husband Arvil of Alexander, Juanita Nash and husband Buddy of Mars Hill, Patsy Cook and husband Raymond of Marshall and Dana Gentry and husband Jim of Marshall; son, Pastor Roy McPeters and wife Teresa of Alexander; 13 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and 11 great great grandchildren. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, October 27, 2013, in Mt. Bethel Freewill Baptist Church, with Pastor Roy McPeters and Rev. Jim Pruitt officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Saturday at West Funeral Home, Weaverville. Flowers are welcome.
