Felix Antonio Lagos Ulloa

    Felix Antonio Lagos Ulloa, 90, of Asheville, NC went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 12^th, 2023. He was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Frances Snow; and parents, Juan Alberto Lagos Fuentealba and Raquel del Carmen Ulloa.

   Felix is survived by his loving family and friends in Chile and Asheville as well as his beloved cat, Rusio. 

  He was born in Guarilihue, Chile, but spent most of his professional life in Santiago as a mathematics professor after graduation from the Catholic University of Chile. 

   He was a dedicated Christian man who faithfully served in his church, the First Baptist Church of Santiago, Chile, working in children and youth ministries. It was there that he met the love of his life, Laura Frances, and a love story began. Upon Laura’s retirement from missionary service, Felix followed her to the United States where they were married. Together, they continued to serve the Lord among the growing Hispanic community of Asheville at various churches.

   Over the past 15 years, Felix was a devoted and cherished member of Iglesia Bautista de la Fe where he formerly served as treasurer. He will be greatly missed by his church as he was a great example of steadfastness and dedication to the Lord. He was a passionate gardener and worked tirelessly beautifying both his home and church. He was not only beloved by his church, but by many people throughout the Asheville area. He was a man who, as the Bible says in Proverbs 18:24, “showed himself friendly”.

   Mr. Lagos’ funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 16, 2023, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home. Pastor Brad Lindsey will officiate. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 15, 2023. Burial will follow at Lewis Memorial Park in Asheville.
