Florine Faulkner Coscia

ASHEVILLE – Florine Faulkner Coscia, age 89, peacefully went to heaven at River Bend Health and Rehabilitation (Formerly the WNC Baptist Home) on October 19, 2024, after several years of declining health. She was born on January 1, 1935, in Marshall, NC. She was preceded in death by her dear husband, Rev. Louis N. Coscia, who passed away on May 23, 2010; her mother, Mae Worley Faulkner; father, Austin Faulkner; brothers, Ray Faulkner and Arnold Faulkner.

Survivors include her beloved niece who she loved like a daughter, Anita Windsor Beard and husband, Robert of Maiden, NC; sisters, Queen Faulkner, Troy, NC; and Gail Windsor, Burlington, NC; sister-in-law, Dorothy Coscia of Memphis, TN; brother-in-law, Robert Coscia and wife Karen of Keller, TX; along with several nieces and nephews.

Florine was a Free Will Baptist Missionary serving in Brazil for 28 years. She stayed busy after retirement working in and around her home and she loved to work outside. She loved her family and is now reunited in heaven with her husband and soulmate, Louis.

A celebration of Florine’s life will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, October 24, 2024, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Avenue, with Reverend Danny Gasperson officiating. Interment will follow in West Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:30 pm to 2:15 pm prior to the service. 

The family welcomes flowers but also knows that Florine would be delighted with contributions to IM, Inc. (Free Will Baptist International Missions), P O Box 5002, Antioch, TN 37011-5002.

The family would like to sincerely thank River Bend Health and Rehabilitation for their loving care of Florine for the last several years. A Special thanks to the entire nursing staff (Especially Tanya and Mandi) for loving Florine so much.
