ASHEVILLE—Frances Mary Dameron, age 90, of 3 Stonebridge Drive died Wednesday, November 14, 2012.
Mrs. Dameron was born November 24, 1921, in Harlem, N.Y., and was a resident of Miami, Fla., for most of her life. She grew up in Colmar Manor, Md. She was a retired executive secretary for Universal Match in Miami, Fla. In the 1960s, she was voted one of the top ten best dressed career women. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dominick and Cora Daisy DuVall DePetro; husband, Sherman Lewis Dameron; and son, William E. Vermillion.
Surviving are her daughter, Cora Hess and husband Billy of Asheville; son, Lawrence Vermillion and wife Janice of Dunnellon, Fla.; daughter-in-law, Rosemary Vermillion of Live Oak. Fla.; sister, Helen Bell of Ocala, Fla.; grandchildren, William "Billy" Holmes, Wendy Flynn, Kyle Vermillion, Shannon Blaylock; great grandchildren, Jeremy Holmes, Scott McBride, Zoe Vermillion, Josh Flynn, Amber Flynn, DC, Leelan and Amanda Blaylock; and great great granddaughter, Kloe Holmes.
Her graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 19, 2012, at West Memorial Park with Rev. Roy Shepherd officiating.
West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, is in charge of arrangements.
