Frances Louise Buckner

BARNARDSVILLE - Frances Louise Buckner, age 92 of Barnardsville passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2023, at her home.  She was born October 4, 1931, in Buncombe County to the late Elmer H.  and Dale Morris Buckner. 

Miss Buckner was a charter member of Barnardsville United Methodist Church and had served as organist and pianist.  She also served as organist and pianist every Sunday at Paint Gap and Mountain Valley Methodist Churches near Barnardsville. A graduate of Berea College with a B. A. degree in Elementary Education.  She retired in 1999 as a Legal Secretary with Patla, Straus, Robinson and Moore, P. A.  

Also, preceding Miss Buckner in death are brothers, Woodfin Morris Buckner and William (Bill) Hubert Buckner, Sr.

Surviving are her niece, Rev. Brenda Hollis of St. Simmons Island, GA and nephews, Bill Buckner, Jr. of Burnsville and Mark Buckner (Cathy) of Little Switzerland and a great niece, Allison Parker (Wes) of Bermuda Run, NC.

      Her funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at Barnardsville United Methodist Church, 7 Church Hill Road, Barnardsville, NC with the Rev. Clyde Denny and Rev. Alycia Johnson officiating.  Burial to follow at Thomas S. Dillingham Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at West Funeral Home, Weaverville.
