FRANCES BROWNING PEGG WEAVERVILLE – Frances Browning Pegg, age 90, of Weaverville died Thursday, November 24, 2016 at the John F. Keever Solace Center. Mrs. Pegg was born June 14, 1926 in Buncombe County to the late Henry and Mintie Morrison Browning. Frances was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and Christian. She was a member of Cedar Hill Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Pegg, Sr., who died October 17, 2016; two infant sons; brothers, Howard, Lloyd and Richard “Rip” Browning. Surviving are her son Samuel C. “Butch” Pegg, Jr.; sisters, Lorraine Merrill, Barbara Higgins; grandchildren, Derrick Pegg, Damien and Darrell Sours; great granddaughter, Peyton Sours. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 26, 2016, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Reverends Harold Rash and Roy McPeters officiating. Burial will be in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends 12:30 to 1:45 p.m., Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home.
