Frank John Picard, III

   Frank John Picard, III, age 78, of Arden, passed away on Monday, December 4, 2023 at Mission Hospital.  He was born in New York, NY on May 28, 1945 to the late Frank John Picard, Jr. and Loretta Fitzpatrick Picard.  In addition to his parents, Frank was also preceded in death by grandsons, Rayne Picard and Dylan Michael Picard, and sister Mary.

   Frank had a 40 year career in telecommunications, all for the same company- though the name changed from New Jersey Bell to eventually Verizon at his retirement.  Always active, in his retirement Frank worked at Lowe’s.  He was a member of St. John of the Ladder Eastern Orthodox Church in Greenville, SC.

   Surviving are his children, Darrin M. Picard and Wendy Picard; sister, Virginia Donovan and husband Larry of New Jersey, niece Jean Donovan, grandchildren, Courtney Donovan and husband Chuck, Megan VanNest and Ethan VanNest; and great-grandchildren, Blake, Otto and Mason.

   His graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, December 12, 2023, in West Memorial Park, 40 Roberts Street, Weaverville, NC, with Father Alexander Earl of Saint John of the Ladder Eastern Orthodox Church officiating.
