Fred Riddle

FRED RIDDLE, JR. WEAVERVILLE – Fred Riddle, Jr., age 93, of Weaverville, died Sunday, August 7, 2016. Mr. Riddle was born October 4, 1922 in Buncombe County where he had lived all of his life. He was a retired truck driver and veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II. Fred was a member of First Baptist Church, Weaverville. He was the son of the late Fred Riddle, Sr. and Lillie Carson Riddle and husband of the late Doris Lawhorne Riddle who died in 2005. Mr. Riddle was also preceded in death by his brothers, Bill and Troy Riddle. Surviving are his son, David R. Riddle and wife Debi of Weaverville. His funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, August 11, 2016, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Reverend Jim McCoy officiating. Burial will be in West Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
