BARNARDSVILLE—Fred H. Robbins, age 64, of Barnardsville died Friday, July 30, 2010.
Mr. Robbins was born October 27, 1945, in Aniston, AL. He was a CRNA with Asheville Surgery Center, Asheville Anesthesia Association for 30 years, and also with Asheville Eye Center. He served as a captain in the US Army during Vietnam and in Germany. He was an active member of Harvest Time Assembly of God and was currently Sunday School Teacher of the Year.
Surviving are his wife of 26 years, Kathy Atkins Robbins; daughter, Crystal; son, Christopher; several grandchildren and one great grandchild.
His funeral service will be held at 2:30 PM Monday, August 2, 2010, in Harvest Time Assembly of God with Revs. Darrell McClaren, Daniel Reid, and Margaret Smathers officiating. Burial will be in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory with military graveside rites conducted by Mars Hill VFW Post 5483 Memorial Team.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 PM Sunday at West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, where the body will remain until placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
At other times the family will be at the residence.
