FRIEDA EVANGELOU WEAVERVILLE – Frieda Evangelou, age 76, of Weaverville died Saturday, January 2, 2016. Mrs. Evangelou was born September 5, 1939 in Greece. She was a retired seamstress in the apparel industry and formerly worked with her husband and son in the Weaverville Pizzeria, a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. Surviving are her husband, Leo Evangelou; daughter, Anna Patsiouris; and son, Sam Evangelou. A private Trisagion service was held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 5, 2016, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Reverend Father Michael Diavatis officiating, with burial in West Memorial Park.
