GARNETT HENSLEY DILLINGHAM BARNARDSVILLE – Garnett Hensley Dillingham, age 88 of Barnardsville died Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at her residence after an extended illness. Mrs. Dillingham was born January 24, 1928, in Buncombe County where she lived all of her life. She enjoyed flower gardening and was very family oriented. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as many other children in the community, all of whom called her Granny Garnett. Mrs. Dillingham was a faithful member of Antioch Baptist Church where she served in various ways. Preceding her in death were her parents, Guy and Elva Howie Hensley; husband, Jack Dillingham; son, Troy Neal Dillingham; brothers, Mike and Bill Hensley; step mother, Beatrice Hensley. Surviving are her sons, Joe Dillingham, Jimmy Dillingham; daughter-in-law, Sandra Dillingham; sisters, Latona Evans, Elva Towe; brothers, Merill, Beaty, and Sidney Hensley; grandchildren, J. Travis Miller, Mark, Josh and Adam Dillingham; great grandchildren, Tallulah, Ryker, Maggie and Jaxson Dillingham. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 26, 2016, in Antioch Baptist Church, Weaverville with Reverends Steve Conard and Aubrey Folk officiating. Burial will be in West Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Saturday at West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville.
