WEAVERVILLE - Gennievie Hawkins Meadows, age 94 of Highland Street died Friday, December 4, 2015 in Rome, GA. Mrs. Meadows was born September 28, 1921 in Buncombe County to the late Rivers Rosco and Lucinda Catherine Martin Hawkins. Mrs. Meadows formerly worked at Burlington Mills and retired from Riverside Hospital in Wyandotte, Mich., where she lived for a number of years. She attended Alexander Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husbands, Alvin W. Bradburn and Herbert Phillip Meadows; son, James Bradburn; sisters, Rosa Ratcliff, Essie Morrison and Onnie Rash and brothers, Arnold, Wilburn, Convard, Glen and Porter Hawkins. Surviving are her son, Harold Bradburn and wife Shirley of Rome, GA; daughter-in-law, Kay Bradburn Manning of Erwin, TN; grandchildren, Brenda Blevins, Jennifer Parsell and Tony and Jamie Bradburn; five great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren. Her funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 8, 2015 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home. Her pastor, Rev. Gerald Sprinkle will officiate. Burial will be in West Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the funeral. Flowers are welcome.
