GEORGE S. CHRYSTAL "CANDYMAN" WEAVERVILLE - George S. Chrystal "Candyman", age 89 of Weaverville died Monday, March 30, 2015. Mr. Chrystal was born August 11, 1925 in Ivoryton County, Connecticut and had been a resident of Buncombe County for nine years. George was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving during World War II, a retired roofer and meter reader and was a member of the Faith and Word Outreach. He is preceded in death by son, Bobby Chrystal. Surviving are his daughter, Dolores C. McCarthy; daughter-in-law, Michelle Chrystal and fiancé Ken Hall; sons, George Sherman Chrystal, Jr. and Gary Chrystal. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. in Crossroads Assembly of God, 20 S. Bear Creek Road, Asheville, NC 28806 with Pastors Tarold and Cryss Stanton officiating.
