WEAVERVILLE—Glamer Carlton Worley, age 83, of Weaverville passed away Monday, February 14, 2011, at the Brian Center in Weaverville.
Mr. Worley was a native of Madison County, born June 6, 1927, and had lived in Buncombe County since the early 1980s. He was a son of the late Burnett Carlton and Hannah Bell Capps Worley. He was also preceded in death by a son, Hubert Worley; two brothers, Layfayette and Lamer Worley; two sisters, Gelema Worley and Sylvia Freeman; and two infant siblings. He was a retired farmer and a member of Light of Life Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.
Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Glenna Davis Worley; three sons, Everette Worley and wife Janet, B.W. Worley and wife Sarah, all of Weaverville, and Dean Worley and wife Nancy of Marshall; two brothers, McKinley and Cleates Worley; two sisters, Novena Buckner and Rosetta Worley; eleven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Marie Worley; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Worley's funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, February 17, 2011, in Light of Life Baptist Church, with Revs. Mark Crowder and Bill Brown officiating. Burial will be in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday at West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, where the body will remain until placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
