Grant Herron

ASHEVILLE—Grant Herron, age 66, of Old Leicester Hwy., died Sunday, April 4, 2010. Mr. Herron was born October 24, 1943, in Buncombe County. He was a retired truck driver and bulldozer operator. He also delivered the Asheville Citizen-Times. Grant enjoyed spending time on the ball field with his grandchildren and talking with anyone he met. He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil F. and Willie Buckner Herron. Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Polly Hoglen Herron; daughter, Debbie Rhodarmer of Leicester; son, David Herron of Hendersonville; sisters, Carrie Ann Morgan and Edna Briggs, both of Leicester; grandchildren, Jesse Rhodarmer and Derick Morgan. His graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 8, 2010, at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory, with Craig Roberts officiating.
